It all began in the early 90’s when Jane O’Riordan (née Hamerton), while looking for a special gift to celebrate the arrival of friends’ beautiful baby daughter, was charmed by a range of personalised towels she saw while browsing in a local boutique.
However, having developed a love of sewing from an early age, Jane was not impressed with the quality of the finish and decided she could do better… and so she did! She cut letters from gorgeous soft fabrics and appliquéd the baby’s name to a fluffy towel. Taking the greatest care over every stitch, the end result was beautiful and the friends were absolutely thrilled.
Then a strange thing happened… word started to spread, friends and family began asking Jane to make gifts for them, and then friends of friends, and soon a brand new personalised gifts business was born.
Nearly twenty-five years later, Jane’s exacting standards are still evident in every aspect of the business. She is particularly proud of the fact that so many customers (and gift recipients) order again once they have seen and felt the quality of the gifts first hand.
Gifts made with care…
While the process to personalise each gift is a simple one, it is very difficult to do with such precision. Each letter has to be positioned perfectly and sewn with the greatest of care. Jane knows how much an unusual, handmade gift means... and will not put her name to anything less than perfect.
