From her home in Suffolk, Jane O’Riordan (née Hamerton) runs a successful christening gifts business, specialising in hand-sewn, personalised towels.

Jane developed a love of sewing from an early age. Ever resourceful, she learnt to make clothes, home furnishings and even wedding dresses.

Inspiration for personalising towels came in the early 1990’s, when Jane wanted to celebrate friends’ newborn babies with an unusual gift. In typical ‘Jane’ style, she cut letters from gorgeous fabrics and appliquéd the baby’s name to a fluffy towel.

To date, she’s been interviewed on BBC Suffolk, featured in Par Excellence Magazine and is hoping to launch a new venture to get school children sewing again.
